It is June 21…Happy International Yoga Day ππππ§ This year’s theme is Yoga for humanity. I am pretty sure we can all think of plenty of reasons why this is so fitting.π
The essence of yoga is balance. Balance in the mind and the body. And also balance in our relationship with the world. π
The truth is that even after practising yoga for years, my mind and body are often not in balance and the world can be pretty chaotic too.
However, practising yoga helps me find my way back to the present moment, one breath at the time…. where there is no stress and where I can observe and notice. Even if it is just for a little while. πΈ
I keep practising yoga poses, because I like challenging myself. And also because I allow myself the joy of restorative yoga, relaxation and rest.
I love yoga because the more I Iearn and practise, the more I realise I am only just scratching the surface. π There is so much more to experience, wonder and learn. π±
Yoga has given me a sense of belonging and a place that always welcomes me, no matter how my mind, body, or the world feel in that moment. π§β€οΈ
