Let’s explore something different today: yoga and the growth mindset. To me, they go together like apple and peanut butter (Have you tried it? I love it! 😋)
I started learning about the growth mindset when I was 21 and travelling around the world. 🌏That’s when I realised a few things:
1. If I had everything I could ask for in this world, I would simply feel miserable without the right mindset (the thoughts and beliefs that affect how you feel and what you think);
2. If you made a mistake then you did just that: you made a mistake…..you learn from it and move on.
3. Everyone feels unhappy and unsuccessful at times and that is OK. Feelings are just like the weather, it changes all the time;
4. We have permission to change and let go of old beliefs, thoughts and feelings. 💡
So, here it is: I slowly started changing from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. Instead of thinking: ‘I am clumsy and not good with computers.’ I started thinking: ‘Yes, sometimes I create 100 empty files on my computer and I have no clue why, but let’s explore this new laptop anyway’. 🙋🏻Instead of thinking: ‘I can’t do yoga because my knees don’t touch the floor when I am sitting cross-legged’ (See photo! 😉). I started thinking: ‘Maybe I can do yoga anyway, even though my knees don’t touch the floor, yet’. 🙌
It changed everything.
And that’s why I started teaching the growth mindset to children. Because when you are open to learning and growing, to falling and getting up again, life becomes a playground with endless possibilities. 🌈🦄❤
